April 1–4, 2027 | Seattle, Washington
Come curious. Have a blast. Leave changed.
No long days sitting in rows. No endless PowerPoints.
The Coaching Retreat is built around Open Space—which means the conversations are created by the people who are actually in the room.
You bring what you are curious about in relation to coaching and the ICF Core Competencies. Someone else brings what they are wrestling with. Another person brings the question they have been carrying for months. A conversation begins. Then another. And another.
Some are practical. Some are hilarious. Some get unexpectedly deep.
You choose where you want to be, which conversations call to you, and when you need to move, wander, rest, or find something entirely different.
There is no single right way to retreat here.
Just room to be curious, connect with good humans, follow what matters, and see what happens when the agenda belongs to all of us. This isn't work, this is a more human way to think.
It is April Fools’ Day, after all.
Arrival, connection, tabletop conversation prompts, a Group Supervision experience, and room for a surprise or two. Then, for anyone who wants to keep the evening going, the optional Seattle cruise.
National DIY Day.
Morning yoga with Theresa, a keynote with Lyssa deHart, MCC, Open Space conversations shaped by the people in the room, creative invitations, time to wander, and conversations that can go wherever they need to go. Then the day ends with the Sound Bath + Breathwork.
World Party Day.
Morning yoga, another full day of Open Space, connection, conversations, reflection, and whatever emerges from the community by this point. Then we party!!!
National Walk Around Things Day.
What a perfect day for coaches to experience new perspectives.
Morning yoga, a labyrinth experience with transformative questions, and a closing keynote with Cherie Silas, MCC—before we finish at 11:00 a.m.

Hi, I'm Theresa.
I am a wife, mother of three, yoga teacher, breathwork and meditation facilitator, sound healing practitioner, and women’s circle and retreat leader. With over 700 hours of intensive yoga training, I am passionate about creating spaces where people can slow down, reconnect, and come home to themselves.
After personally navigating years of anxiety and depression, yoga became a powerful turning point in my life—opening a door to a deeper connection with myself and ultimately leading me toward meditation, breathwork, sound healing, sacred ritual, and women’s circles.
Today, I weave these practices into everything I offer. I deeply believe that healing can begin with something as simple as pausing, listening, and meeting ourselves with compassion.
At the heart of my work is a belief that we all carry wisdom within us and that kindness, connection, and loving-kindness have the power to create a more beautiful, compassionate world.
Yoga is so much more than movement. It invites us to slow down, breathe deeply, and come home to ourselves. Through mindful movement and breath, yoga helps strengthen and nourish the body, improve flexibility and balance, calm the nervous system, and deepen the mind-body connection.
With practice, it can support stress reduction, emotional wellbeing, inner strength, greater presence, and a deeper sense of balance within.
Conscious Connected Breathwork helps regulate the nervous system, release stored emotional tension, and increase oxygen flow, creating a state of deep clarity and inner balance.
Through its continuous, rhythmic breathing pattern, it supports emotional processing, enhances mental focus, and opens pathways for profound insight, relaxation, and energetic renewal.
A sound bath is an immersion in vibration…
a gentle wave of tones that quiet the mind, soften the heart, and soothe the nervous system.
The harmonies wash away tension, clarify the inner mind, and realign your energy with a deeper sense of peace.
You leave feeling lighter, clearer, and quietly renewed.

Hey there, I’m Lyssa.
I didn’t start out as a Master Certified Coach or a coaching educator. I began with a thriving therapy practice, helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s messiest, most meaningful changes. But over time, I realized I wanted more than helping people “function.” I wanted to help people flourish.
In 2013, I found myself burned out and decided to rewrite the story of my life. I made a plot twist in my own story, shifting from therapist to coach, and never looking back.
Since becoming a coach, I’ve logged over 7,500 hours (on top of 20,000+ therapy hours), worked with leaders in Fortune 500 companies, trained over 10,000 coaches globally, and created a coaching academy with programs that transform how people show up—for themselves and others. I believe in the radical power of curiosity. When you bring deep listening, metaphor, and neuroscience together, you create more than conversations. You create transformation.
Lyssa opens our time together by inviting us into curiosity, possibility, and the kind of thinking that loosens what we already know.
Expect insight, story, and a few ideas that may follow you into conversations throughout the retreat.
Curiosity sits at the heart of Lyssa’s work.
She invites us to notice what changes when we become less certain, listen more deeply, and make room for perspectives we may not have considered before.
Rather than giving us answers to carry through the weekend, Lyssa helps open the field.
Her keynote becomes a launching point for the questions, connections, and unexpected conversations that emerge when the room begins creating the agenda together.

Hey there, I’m Cherie.
I’m an ICF Master Certified Coach, EMCC Master Coach and Accredited Coaching Supervisor, author, and Founder and CEO of Tandem Coaching.
Before moving fully into coaching, I spent 15 years in executive leadership roles—from Director to CEO—and today I partner with leaders, coaches, and organizations as they navigate the people, leadership, and cultural challenges that can get in the way of doing their best work.
I’m particularly drawn to the kind of reflective work that gives us a chance to look at ourselves as practitioners—not to judge what we find, but to become more curious about what we bring into the room, what shapes our choices, and what we might see from another perspective.
At The Coaching Retreat, I’ll invite you into that exploration through Group Supervision and Tree Perspectives, and then help us gather some of what these four days have stirred through our closing reflection.
A reflective practice through metaphor.
Cherie will guide coaches through a Tree Perspectives supervision experience, using images of trees in different stages and forms as a doorway into reflection on their own practice.
Metaphor can sometimes reveal what direct questions cannot—opening new ways of seeing ourselves and the work we do.
Cherie knows how to hold a room where something real can happen.
Cherie brings years of experience designing and facilitating retreats, creating the kind of space where people can step away from the usual pace, connect more deeply, and allow conversations and insights to unfold without being forced.
Before we leave, we gather what mattered.
On our final morning, Cherie will help us pause and notice what these four days have stirred—what surprised us, what shifted, what we want to remember, and what we may carry differently when we return home.

Hey there, I’m Karen.
I'm a Master Certified Coach, coach educator, author, Certified Open Space Facilitator, and founder of Monarch Coaching & Training. For more than two decades, I've worked with people and organizations navigating change, complexity, leadership, and the very human experiences that come with all of it.
My work lives at the intersection of coaching, neuroscience, nervous system awareness, and somatic practice. I am the creator of the Coaching Heartset™ and the founder of The Coaching Retreat, which grew from a simple belief: some of the most powerful learning happens when people have enough space to follow their curiosity, listen deeply, and have the conversations that matter.
My joy is in creating experiences that invite people out of performance and into presence. At the retreat, it is my honor to hold the Open Space process and guide the closing labyrinth experience—two very different invitations to wander, wonder, notice, and perhaps see something from a perspective you hadn’t considered before.
The room creates the agenda.
Karen will open and hold the Open Space process, making room for the questions, ideas, challenges, curiosities, and conversations participants actually want to explore.
Bring something you want to talk about—or simply follow the conversations that call to you.
Sometimes perspective changes when we move differently.
On our final morning, Karen will guide a labyrinth experience woven with transformative questions—an invitation to slow down, walk with what has emerged during the retreat, and notice what you can see from a different place.
You don’t have to arrive with answers.
Much of Karen’s work begins with curiosity: What are we noticing? What else might be here? What becomes possible when we stop trying to solve something long enough to really see it?
Expect invitations to wonder, experiment, and look again.

Hey there, I’m Elena.
I’m a Strategic Transformation Manager and Enterprise Coach at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and an Adjunct Professor at NYU SPS. For years, I’ve worked alongside leaders and teams navigating complex environments, helping people collaborate, build trust, and create meaningful, sustainable change.
My background spans organizational transformation, coaching, facilitation, technology, and Agile ways of working. I hold an MBA in Technology Management and am a Scrum Alliance Certified Enterprise Coach and Certified Team Coach.
I’m also a seasoned retreat leader, bringing experience in creating and holding spaces where people can connect, reflect, learn, and enjoy being together.
At The Coaching Retreat, I’ll be your Emcee—helping us stay connected to what’s happening, move through our days together, and keep the energy, warmth, and momentum flowing along the way.
Elena will help connect the many pieces of the retreat—welcoming us, helping us know what’s happening, and creating continuity as we move between conversations, experiences, reflection, and play.
Elena's emcee style is energetic and fun.
Because how a room feels matters.
Elena brings years of experience facilitating groups, building trust, and energizing people and teams. She knows how to help people connect while still leaving room for what naturally wants to emerge.
Elena knows what it takes to hold more than an agenda.
As a seasoned retreat leader, she understands the rhythm of gathering people together over several days—the moments that need energy, the transitions that need clarity, and the spaces that simply need room to breathe. She’ll help hold that rhythm throughout our four days together.
Turns out professional development doesn’t have to mean sitting in a chair while someone talks at you for hours.
At The Coaching Retreat, learning happens in conversation, reflection, practice, movement, supervision, and the unexpected places we find ourselves when we have enough space to follow what matters.
Your participation throughout the retreat can earn you up to 15 ICF Continuing Coach Education (CCE) hours—while you are also connecting with other coaches, exploring real questions, experiencing new perspectives, and perhaps having considerably more fun than you expected from something carrying CCEs.
Open Space puts you in conversation with the questions that are alive in the room—not someone else’s predetermined agenda. You choose where your curiosity takes you and learn alongside coaches bringing different experiences, perspectives, and wisdom.
Group supervision, the labyrinth experience, Lyssa’s opening keynote, Cherie’s closing reflection, and the quieter spaces in between invite you to notice who you are as a coach and what is alive in your practice.
The Coaching Retreat is an ICF-accredited Continuing Coach Education experience. Eligible participants may earn up to 15 CCE hours based on participation in qualifying retreat experiences.
Come for the conversations. Come for the people. Come for Seattle, yoga, sound baths, wandering, laughter, and whatever else calls to you.
The CCEs are a pretty lovely bonus.
Right in the heart of downtown, it gives us a comfortable place to gather, learn, wander, and return to between adventures.
Breakfast, snacks, and lunch are included during the retreat. Dinner is yours—which feels exactly right in a city with so many wonderful places to eat. Gather a few new friends, wander out, find something delicious, or take the evening at your own pace.
And on Thursday, April 1, those who want a little extra Seattle can join us for an optional sunset cruise on the water.
In October 2026, Argosy will open their calendar for the following year.
We’ll let registered retreat participants know when booking opens.
In the meantime, click here to explore and bookmark the cruise.

What’s Included → retreat experiences, breakfast/lunch/snacks, journal, 15 CCEs, etc.
What’s Not Included / Optional → hotel room, dinner, travel, cruise add-on.

The Coaching Retreat has an online shop where you can order cool merch. Within about a week, they will print your order and mail it out to you directly. You can order at any time. Order ahead and wear your merch to get people excited about it. Bring it to the retreat!
The event officially starts at 1pm on April 1st (no joke, truly), and ends at 11am on April 4th. But there are plenty of things to see in Seattle, so come early, stay late.
We’re thoughtfully creating a spacious retreat schedule, with plenty of room for connection, reflection, learning, and rest. The full schedule will be shared with participants in advance.
After each CCE-eligible session, you’ll scan a QR code and complete a brief session survey. That helps us verify which sessions you participated in and calculate your individual CCE total.
After the retreat, we’ll tally your qualifying hours, create your personalized ICF CCE certificate, and email it to you within approximately two weeks of the event.
Budding coaches, coaches in training, certified coaches of all levels. It does not matter whether you are an ICF coach or a Co-Active coach, or haven't had any coach training at all yet. Come one, come all.
The Coaching Retreat is being held at The Westin Seattle, 1900 Fifth Avenue in downtown Seattle, Washington.
The link to reserve your room at the retreat rate will be included in the handout you’ll receive after registering.
Not at all. You can still attend the retreat without staying at the Westin.
The Westin Seattle offers accessible accommodations. If you have specific accessibility needs, please let us know in the registration survey so we can support your participation as fully as possible.
The optional Argosy cruise offers some accessible accommodations. If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact Argosy directly at the time of the ticket purchase to discuss available accommodations.
We’ve got you. In fact, there’s something pretty wonderful about experiencing Open Space for the first time without knowing exactly what to expect.
And if a little “Wait…what?” just showed up, here’s all you need to know: come with something you’re curious about. It might be a coaching question, something happening in your practice, one of the eight ICF Core Competencies you’re wrestling with, or a question you haven’t quite figured out how to ask yet.
Bring it messy. Bring it unfinished. Bring the thing you keep thinking about.
You don’t need to prepare a presentation. You just need something worth having a conversation about.
